Now, I may be considered not one for rules, but if you think that about me, you're crazy! I'm all about knowing the rules, how else are you supposed to break them?!
So after some research, here are a few "rules" I'm crazy about:
1. Engage from the beginning. I'm a movie guy, there's always a hook to snatch the viewer into watching the remainder of the movie. If you don't have this with blogs, then you won't get the readers. (Having a hooking title helps as well!)
2. Add images where possible. Why not add another sensory element into your blog. It's not only fun just to read, but to visualize as well. Also, adding a graphic can help resolve discrepancy if there be any.
3. It doesn't have to be perfect. I by no means am perfect, nor do I expect those reading my blog to be! It's also part of the learning process, if we are perfect, than there would be nothing to learn.
4. Keep a schedule. Although I am the biggest breaker of this rule, I believe in it. If you are going to blog, set a schedule as to when you are going to blog, don't keep your readers guessing or you will no longer have readers to guess.
There are surely other crazy rules out there to follow as you blog your life away, but that's another blog. And I would surely be crazy if I didn't take time to say thanks for the help from the following for their guidance:
