Fly n' Crazy
No, I'm not saying I'm Fly for a white guy. I'm talking about the real insect. The Fly! They are crazy little buggers. They are much neater than their cousins, The Walk. They are all over the world, bugging everyone! If you care, the fly insect is of the Diptera Order. Yep, you can store that away and thank me when it's the final question on Jepordy!
So, flies. Houseflies, horseflies, mayflies, dragonflies, damselflies, stoneflies, whiteflies, fireflies, alderflies, dobsonflies, snakeflies, sawflies, caddisflies, butterflies, scorpionflies, boogerflies, etc. (Ok, so the last one is not an insect but what thrid graders do!) All these are types of flies! You know what they all have in common? That's right, they all end in "flies!"
So the other thing about flies is they never have to worry about saying, "Oh I wish I was a fly on the wall in that room!" They usually are! But, if they are tired of their loved ones, they can say, "Shoo fly, don't bother me!" And even better, they get to call their children "maggots!" I don't think it gets better than that!
So my true reason in blogging about flies, is because some people call me the "Fly Whisperer." I know, fancy name! I don't tame wild flies or tame tame flies that become wild because of an accident. What I do is snatch them right out of the sky! I know, I know, sounds pretty impressive and I'm sure you are looking for an example. Well, I haven't caught it on tape (he, he! "caught" it on "tape"! Like I use fly paper! Not even!) Nope, it's just me and the fly! Like Mr. Miyagi, on the Karate Kid!
The fat crazy ones are easier to catch. It's those small ones which can ellude me for a time. But wind or rain, I catch my fly! Just ask my wife! Ido it all the time. There was even one time I was sitting on the couch and a fly flew behind my head and I just snatched it in the air, behind my head! It was awsome! So anyway, remember the next time you see a fly (and maybe even if you try to catch it mid flight) know the Fly Whisperer is out their, catching those crazy critters!

Hey, I think it runs in the family, cuz I catch flies too. What do you do with them after you catch them? I like to shake them up in my closed fist and make their tiny fly brains get all mixed up. Then I take them out side and throw them, usually towards the ground. I have been able to throw quite a few of them.
One skill that I got on my mission was killing flies with a knife. You have to be pretty patient when using a knife to kill them because they are pretty quick. But never-the-less I have mastered the skill. That's what I get for not owning a fly swatter for two years.
I usually just let them go outside. I have to do this to prove I actually caught it. I take it and trap it between the window and my hand so my kids can see how cool their dad is!
It skipped a generation on my end then. Sarah actually got on the other day and brought it to me. I didn't know what it was until she placed it in my hand. It was pretty funny. She keeps them as a pet for a while (usually until they have been smoothered by her love). :o)
Our house has become the reunion place for flies since I don't have a screen and I leave the door open when the girls go out to play so if I could "fly" the Fly Whispered here to take care of a few then I would!! :o)
